What is an Atheist?
"A person for whom the idea of god is senseless. Not to be confused with a person who hates (and necessarily believes in the existence of) god."
An Atheist; is a non-theistic person (A-theist), a person without religious faith, a person whom does not believe in god. Agnostics also fall under the banner of atheistic, because their lack of conclusion either way is non-theistic.
The only fundamental to atheism is a lack of religious belief.
What is the purpose of this site?
One purpose of this site is to provide a location where relevant information that is subject to both peer review and scrupulous scientific investigation can be displayed for access by anybody, anywhere.
This site is a collection of information from many areas, including history, biology, psychology, astronomy and physics.
Information used on this site is researched and gathered from volunteers from around the world working in the field, from a university or at home.
Another purpose of this site is to provide an environment where individuals can exchange opinions and ideas without being subject to abuse from groups that opose Atheism because of religious reasons.
